Steve Theis
Steve Theis is the President of Emerald Homes of Iowa, Inc., a company building green, high performance custom homes at all price points. He is also President of Theis & Co., LLC, a building, real estate and building instruction consulting company focusing on green building.
He earned his B.A. degree in Business Management from The University of South Florida and holds the following designations from the National Association of Homebuilders and the National Association of Realtors.
- CGP - Certified Green Professional
- GMB - Graduate Master Builder
- CMP - Certified Marketing Professional
- National Association of Realtors Green Realtor
Additionally, he holds Real Estate Broker’s Licenses in Florida and Iowa and a General Contractor’s License in Florida.
Steve has over thirty years of building experience ranging from constructing custom homes to creating PUD communities. He has been involved in every aspect of the business from working with Planning and Zoning Commissions, to all areas of construction and, finally, to turning over community management to the owners.
His building and real estate background and experience gives Steve a unique perspective on the entire process of designing, building and finally selling quality homes.
Amy Larsen
Amy Larsen, a native of Glenwood Iowa, brings to Emerald Homes of Iowa a wealth of experience in drafting and CAD design. She graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design. After moving to Kansas City for a few years, she earned a diploma in Computer Drafting at Vatterott College and worked doing drafting for a commercial security company. Returning to Iowa, she worked for two major Iowa homebuilders before coming to Emerald Homes to be the heart of the creative design team. During this time she also earned the CGP (Certified Green Professional) designation from the National Association of Homebuilders. She is detail oriented and devoted to ensuring clients get the home of their dreams while incorporating the principles of High Performance housing. Amy recently completed her Certified Aging-in-Place certification.
Amy and her husband enjoy spending time with their families, reading and getting to know their newly-adopted cat.
